  Im not saying this is bad its just not the Red Roaster. The Red Roaster was a Brighton institution and whilst this is lovely its just not the Red Roaster. Great coffee. Decor is plush. Food smells enticing. Its not the Red Roaster though. Did i say that already?

  After 30 mins we asked if our food was coming, they said there had been a mistake in the kitchen and they hadn’t started making it, the waiting staff, who weren’t overly busy obviously hadn’t checked either. We had 2 young kids who were starving so we left and ate elsewhere. Maybe the food is good but if they can’t get the basics right then whats the point? Zero stars would have been better.

  Sometimes its good - sometimes not. The coffee is great, if it arrives. I was forgotten about today despite ordering once at the till and then again to the waiter who asked about 10 minutes later, and left after 20 minutes as had to get back to work. It is not the first time since the rebrand. As an additional annoyance, the newly renovated ceiling had leaked and a bucket had been placed to catch the water. Unfortunately it had also leaked into a chair which I sat in. So I left after waiting 20 minutes with a wet bum and no coffee. Its close to work so no doubt I will give it another try in a couple of weeks. 2.5 stars.
